Hi Olivia,
Planning determines what is to be delivered, how much it will cost, how it will be delivered and who will carry it out.
The planning represents the thinking phase of the project. Planning is strategic and tactical thinking about project execution.
Project Success is most often contingent upon an effective planning effort. planning precedes scheduling; without proper planning, scheduling is pointless and loses credibility.
Scheduling is a process of converting a general or outline plan for a project into a time-based schedule based on available resources and time constraints.
Schedule Development involves:
[li]Identify project activities[/li]
[li]Estimate activity duration[/li]
[li]Identifying and modelling relationships between activities[/li]
[li]Assign resources responsible for accomplishing activities[/li]
[li]Calculate activity start & finish dates[/li]
[li]Review & analyse schedule with stakeholders[/li]
Thanks
Matthew
